Why is it that whenever I travel, I miss the most exciting events in Toronto? That’s what happened yesterday: as my airplane was touching ground at the Pearson airport, JDL-Canada was holding an event in support of the English Defense League.
So I missed the event, but there were enough people present there to tell what happened (see Blazingcatfur). Apparently as all members and guests of JDL were peacefully conducting their rally in the building, a small group of about 20 mad “progressives” in front of the Zionist Centre did their best to disturb them. Across the street they had another group with approximately the same number. While the police were trying to get the situation under control, few of those wackos attacked an officer who had to be taken to the hospital (reportedly with broken ribs). As a result several people were arrested.
Who were the people present there? Judging from the list of the organizations that endorsed the protest, they were members of the following:
It’s a nice list: insane revolutionaries, pro-Muslim activists, Arabs, self-loathing Jews and many others in between. The only odd fact is that the impressive number of 32 world-changing organizations managed to produce only about 40 protesters. It all sounds too familiar to me, I have seen them all before, which brings us to the pictures in the beginning of this post. I took both of them during the G20 Summit riots in Toronto last summer.
Look at the first one: the whole menagerie of creatures that protest against everything is right there. The wacky girl with dreadlocks and colour tattoos, who thinks she makes a bold political statement by wearing the disgusting Arafat scarf… The fat union worker with hard hat, who has been mooching off the capitalist system forever, yet he feels compelled to take Chairman Mao’s stand on rebellion… The leftover hippies, who still think they should change the world… And most important, the revolutionary bums with veiled faces, who at the moment still march peacefully (that’s near Queen’s Park), but few blocks further on would take out the hidden sticks to break the windows of the small businesses that pay the taxes, which cover their welfare cheques… What a pathetic bunch marching under those red flags (the only thing missing is a Che Guevara T-shirt).
The second one is a picture of the mini-demonstration of Neturei Karta, which took place the same day (behind the Parliament Building). Well, that one defies logic altogether. A group of Orthodox Rabbis who are against the existence of Israel – they even write it as “Israel” as it is customary in any self-respecting Al Qaida publication. It is hard to see, but one of them is waving the Palestinian flag.
So what does that riff-raff have in common? Why did they gang up against EDL and JDL?
That’s not hard to figure out. All they want is the destruction of our civilization. In their sick minds they all have the “best” recipes for building a new society. Yet they don’t notice that their existence is possible only in this society. Do you think that in a Marxist state those “revolutionaries” would be let to roam free at government’s expense? No, all of them would be forced to work (with the most enterprising of them becoming prison guards). And the unions will have to part with the plump benefits possible only in a prosperous capitalist country. They don’t have any sensible goal, but they are convenient tools for the religious fanatics, who want to take over the West.
JDL does not want to destroy our civilization (and the same applies to EDL). Their purpose is to preserve the values that made our progress possible. No society in history has ever survived after betraying its own values.
JDL-Canada is a peaceful organization, which had strictly adhered to the Canadian laws at every one of its events. When they protested the anti-Jewish sentiments expressed by Toronto Star’s writers, the demonstration was peaceful. When they confronted the participants of the fundraiser for the Canadian Gaza boat supposed to help the Hamas terrorists, everything went on smoothly, without a trace of violence, although some of the people on the other side would have loved to get into a fight.
That track of strict control makes more than puzzling the remarks of some at CJC that JDL somehow contributed to the violence on Tuesday. The logic behind them is understandable: if you lie low, the lefties and the fundamentalists will supposedly leave you alone. Yes, that may work once, if you keep quiet in your basement pretending you are dead, the Cossacks may pass by your house, but they will get you for sure during the next pogrom.
Anti-Semitism is the last refuge of the lazy, the stupid and the social misfits, who need to justify their useless existence. Going after somebody who is successful and destroying them is the easiest way to get noticed and create in your mind the illusion that you do something important. It is also a way for some of those young “revolutionary” misfits to impress girls, since it is easier to demonize somebody and assault him than to build success on your own.
Pretending that those destructive forces don’t exist and leaving them out of control is the surest way to put an end to our society as we know it.
