A few weeks ago it become clear that one of the candidates for school trustee in Toronto had (mildly said) a checkered past. It included support for introducing sharia rules in the Canadian universities; speaking in support of Hezbollah and even collecting money to help the Toronto 18 terrorist group.
Unlike Ausma’s political party, I am a staunch supporter of free speech. If she was applying for the position of aluminum lining saleswoman, her views wouldn’t matter that much. However, she wants to be one of the elected officials, who shape Toronto’s school policies. In that case, her views become very important – a person supporting a backward religious ideology, which justifies violence, has no place in our education system. It would’ve been natural, if the NDP distanced itself from Malik after the revelations.
It looks like the NDP is not a normal party – they stubbornly hold on stubbornly to Ausma, as if she is their best find in years. (After listening to Tom Mulcair today opposing the intervention against ISIS, I am inclined to think that this might be the case.)
Not only didn’t they drop her, but she has been firmly entrenched in the NDP municipal campaign, appearing in Joe Cressy’s signs:
Obviously, concepts like honesty, common sense, and decency have been purged from the NDP’s arsenal long time ago. Everything is done to add a few more votes to the final result (it still remains a mystery how Ausma is going to add those votes, unless the Annex leftards vote her in out of guilt and fear from being called “racist” or “Islamophobic” if a hijab “anti-Zionist” is not elected).
I wonder what the imam of a devout Muslim like Ausma would say, if he sees her promoter Joe Cressy at this year’s homosexual parade:
Standing like a palace fool on a float behind the reigning NDP King and Queen (Mulcair and Horvath), who waived benevolently at their Torontonian subjects, Cressy was jumping up and down (which was supposed to be a dance), trying like everybody else there to look as if he was having fun. Supporting such events is definitely not what a pious woman in hijab is expected to do.
Maybe it’s time to get up and vote, time to kick out those lefties and bring in some sanity into our schools.
