While Mayor Rob Ford is hiding at an undisclosed location trying to escape the madness surrounding the “pride week,” Olivia Chow works frantically to energize her homosexual base. The surviving half of the Holy NDP Family is not afraid of the homosexuals, on the contrary, she feels comfortable among them just like a butch in Iceland.
Even though the base is small in numbers, it still matters, because it has a strong presence in the media, education, and government. And the homosexuals know very well how to silence or banish anybody, who stands on their way, especially if he or she offends St. Olivia.
Her new initiative is a big drag queen party scheduled to take place tonight at Woody’s, a notorious gay bar on Church St.
The announcement on the event’s Facebook page sounds so upbeat and cheery that it leaves no doubt about Olivia’s deep knowledge of the scene:
Olivia Chow’s epic World Pride Party will take you from Australia to Argentina! Two shows bring together a sensational, international mix of beats including Latin, gospel, soca, pop and hip hop. Diva representation will be out in full force: Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Shirley Bassey, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Alison Hinds, Ricky Martin and more! The first show starts at 9:15 p.m. Second show is 10:00 p.m. Come early to see some of Toronto’s hottest performers: Mahogany Browne, Sapphire Titha-Reign, Allysin Chaynes, Slimthick Monroe, and introducing Mila Veu, Natalia Haute-Mez, and Brendan Lewis. Plus the incredible DJ Chris Steinbach spins all night!

Woody’s, 467 Church Street, Toronto
I have never heard of those impersonators, but the enthusiasm of the description shows that even in the musical art the homosexuals prefer bad imitations to the real thing. Nevertheless, the staff and the promoters have been working hard to organize and promote the drag extravaganza.
Things become more interesting when you read the descriptions of the performers. All of them have been written by Olivia – her deep knowledge about the craft and the language she uses makes you wonder if she actually was married to Jack Layton. She sounds more like an experienced butch who had been around the block and knows intimately the drag business:
Another one of our amazing performers. Mahogany Browne is pretty in pink and she will get “this party started” Shirley Bassey-style at 9:00 p.m. this Saturday. Arrive early.
Another preview of Saturday’s show at Woody’s. Drag queen Mila Veu likes to cake it on. The free show starts at 9:00 p.m., so arrive early and bring your friends.
Allysin Chaynes will be Cher-ing her spectacular drag skills this Saturday at Woody’s for our World Pride Party. Allysin is part of two amazing shows. The first one starts at 9:15 p.m.
Natalia Haute-Mez is one of the many performers at our World Pride Party. I hear you may go “gaga” over this fabulous drag queen.
Slimthick Monroe, from the House of Monroe, is another incredible performer at our World Pride Party this Saturday at Woody’s. Slimthick tells me she is a triple threat because her shows are “going to be a vogue-meets-hip-hop-meets-soca extravaganza.”
Very excited to have so much glamour lined up for June 21. Sapphire Titha-Reign is another incredible drag performer at our World Pride Party!
Impressive descriptions! If Olivia put one tenth of the thought she put in them into her mayoral platform, she would make more sense. Instead, we have her ramblings about helping small business, while congesting the city traffic with more buses and over 200 km of new bike lanes.
But who needs a sensible political program, if they rely on the votes of Downtown Toronto? The parasites that live in that section of the Twilight Zone are not interested in fiscal responsibility or even simple logic. After all, those were the people, who recently gave parliamentary majority to the most corrupt gang of crooks and thieves ever to rule Ontario.
It’s enough, if a politician shows that he or she is part of their cause, no matter how ridiculous it is. Kathleen Wynne kept hammering all of us with her lesbian exceptionalism and it was enough to ensure her victory, regardless of her shady deals, lies, and possibly crimes.
Olivia is following the same beaten path and it works for her. Surely, her career would skyrocket, if she announces that she was a closet lesbian trapped in an oppressive heterosexual marriage, but that may damage St. Jacks red hallo. For now, being a drag queen expert is enough to keep her going. And it works:
When Rob Ford’s addiction problems surfaced, Olivia kept repeating what an embarrassment he is for the city. She even quoted Chinese newspapers to make her point, because she was in communist China to solicit votes from Canadian citizens of convenience living there.
Her involvement in that drag queen circus would be considered embarrassing in much larger parts in the world, but they won’t be surprised – most of them know that with the Canadian breed of politicians anything goes.
